"We spend this semester in Dundee, UK and this is what we see outside.
It's not the most beautiful thing but we don't mind sith the country is enthralling."

View from my flat

The first edition of View from my flat has been launched!

Here is Bori's view from Budapest: boribp

When I look out of my window the first word that comes to my mind is nostalgia. Nostalgia but mixed with curiosity. More than three years ago, when I moved to this flat, typical houses of Budapest from the 19. century were standing behind the square where I was living in those days and whrere I am still living now: one or two storey buildings with an inner courtyard and galleries on each storey. The area was totally different from the near future's wants-to-be-modern view. Also my favourite 'ruinpub' (WestBalkán) stood just on the corner with its lovely green garden full of with colourful paper lanterns, where I liked so much sitting on sluggish summer evenings. Together with the other buildings it was destroyed in order to give place for the buildings of a new urban plan. Should I really have nostalgia for houses doomed to decay, where people were obliged to live in poor conditons? Today's cranes mean hope of a totally different urban zone for the future's new inhabitants. Will todays constructions realize a developed and modern district, which allows a comfortable urban lifestyle? I am also curious about the answer…
